No, I don't do any art. The artist in my family is my daughter, who is pretty good at writing and drawing. I stick to translations and beta-reading (in german) - that's something I am good at
Oh! That's great!! your daughter's stuff must be awesome. Translating is harddd, in my opinion...especially with the cultural difference..like idioms. Idioms..I'd think you'd get just pretty much stumped on those unless you could think of something similar for that.
Exactly. Some idioms and puns are next to impossible to translate. Plus, grammar and syntax are different, too. I haven't found translations for 'courtship' and 'ersonal space' yet, there are no words in German that have exactly the same meaning. OTOH, it's a challenge and I enjoy it
